01Do I need a Chinese partner or director?
No. A WFOE is 100% foreign-owned by definition. You'll appoint a legal representative, director and supervisor. They can all be foreigners, and none of them needs to live in China.
02How much registered capital do I need?
Most sectors have no legal minimum, and capital no longer has to be paid up front. But the number is public and banks read it. We advise a figure that's credible for your business plan and an injection schedule that matches your cash flow.
03Can I do the whole thing remotely?
The registration itself, yes. Notarised documents plus power of attorney let us file everything from Haikou. Some banks want to meet the legal representative once for account opening; with visa-free entry for 85 nationalities, most clients fold that into a two-day trip. We'll tell you your bank's exact policy before you book anything.
04WFOE, joint venture or representative office?
WFOE for control and full business scope; JV only when regulation or a strategic partner genuinely requires it; rep office only for non-trading liaison work (it can't invoice). If a different structure fits you better, we'll say so, the comparison is part of the free consultation.
05What can go wrong?
The classics: a business scope drafted too narrowly, a name conflict discovered late, documents legalised in the wrong sequence, or an address that fails inspection. Every one of these is preventable at the planning stage. Which is why our process front-loads it.
